Acupuncture Improves Breathing for COPD Patients

New research finds that acupuncture benefits patients with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). The researchers discovered that acupuncture reduces dyspnea, difficulty breathing, during exercise for patients with COPD. All participants in the study were administered acupuncture at a rate of one treatment per week for a total of ten weeks. The findings demonstrate that acupuncture improves oxygen saturation during exercise in patients with COPD. The findings also indicate that COPD patients have reduced breathlessness upon physical exertion.
