Ear acupuncture helps control hot flashes and night sweats for women receiving breast cancer treatment. Researchers studied the effectiveness of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) 5-point ear acupuncture point prescription on women 35 years or older receiving tamoxifen therapy. Fifty women received the NADA therapy over a period of eight weeks.
Ear Acupuncture The advantage of the ear acupuncture therapy was that treatment was easily administered in small groups of five or less women simultaneously. The results were clinically significant. The mean frequency of hot flashes and night sweats was reduced by over thirty-five percent.
