HealthCMi is the online division of the Healthcare Medicine Institute. HealthCMi provides online continuing education courses to medical professionals including acupuncturists and nurses. Medical professionals purchase courses online for download, take an online quiz and receive a certificate of completion. These courses can be taken online at any time for instant acupuncture CEUs throughout the USA, Canada and Australia. HealthCMi also offers a schedule of live webinars for acupuncture CEUs.
HealthCMi is located in Santa Cruz, California, approximately 70 miles south of San Francisco and is very close to nearby San Jose. Using our online learning system, licensed acupuncturists and nurses can take courses for continuing education credit at any time from any location. There are no time limits on courses and quizzes may be retaken as often as is needed.

The Healthcare Medicine Institute is dedicated to supporting a consortium of authors and presenters. Content providers are encouraged to publish medical works for medical professionals which are both useful and interesting. By providing a certificate of completion and license renewal process in conjunction with the production of medical works, the Healthcare Medicine Institute assists writers in obtaining the financial support requisite to devote time towards quality publications. The Healthcare Medicine Institute assists writers and presenters with lecture presentations, quiz creation, approvals for continuing education credit, and the preparation of educational materials for publication.

Prof. Richard Liao, L.Ac.

Professor Liao has served as professor of herbology and acupuncture theory at the Academy of Chinese Culture & Health Sciences in Oakland, California. Prof. Liao has also served as faculty at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California. His many years of teaching experience bring the highest quality of interesting and useful courses to HealthCMi continuing education online. In addition, Prof. Liao has a private acupuncture practice in Walnut Creek, California.
Prof. Jeffrey Pang, L.Ac.

Prof. Jeffrey Pang received his M.D. in western medicine and TCM from the Sun Yat Sen University of Medical Science in Guangzhou, China. He practiced as a licensed acupuncturist for ten years in Guangzhou and Hong Kong prior to becoming a licensed acupuncturist in California. Prof. Pang’s family has practiced TCM for generations and his clinical practice spans over 30 years. Since 1984, Prof. Pang has served as the Department Chair for both the Theory and Herbology departments at Five Branches University. Currently, he is an active faculty member at Five Branches University at both the Santa Cruz and San Jose locations and authors publications for Chinese Medicine and dietetics at HealthCMi. In addition to teaching and curriculum development for Five Branches University and HealthCMi, Prof. Pang has a private practice in Santa Cruz and San Jose, California.
Adam White, M.T.C.M., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM)

Adam White, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM) has served as a faculty member and as the Continuing Education Director for Five Branches University. His publications cover a variety of topics including Chinese medicine dietetics, the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disorder and herb-drug interactions. He is currently the CEO of the Healthcare Medicine Institute.
Colleen DeLaney, L.Ac., M.T.C.M.

Colleen DeLaney is a California licensed acupuncturist and has been in private practice for approximately two decades in Chico, California. She served as an X-ray technician for 15 years in California hospitals and received her Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine degree from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California.
John Struthers, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM)

John Struthers served as Academic Director of Five Branches University from 1989 to 1992. As a Five Branches faculty member, John Struthers taught western sciences and Chinese medicine theory. Currently, he is a licensed acupuncturist and author for HealthCMi.com with a private practice in Chico, California.
Dr. Van S. Stevens, D.M.D., P.A.

Dr. Stevens has been a periodontist for over 30 years with a practice limited to periodontics and oral implantology. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Periodontology, Central Dental Society, Union County Dental Society, New Jersey Dental Society, Northeast Periodontal Study Group, and the Academy of Dental Practice and Administration. Dr. Stevens has hosted live, on-site continuing education seminars for many years and assists with dental related continuing education CEU projects.
Kevin Walker, L.Ac., R.Ph.
Kevin Walker is a licensed acupuncturist, registered pharmacist, and contributing author to HealthCMi. He has extensive experience in patient monitoring, drug information, and collaborative practice. He was a staff pharmacist at the Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley, California and worked with inpatient care at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio.
Tinisia Green, L.Ac., Dipl.OM. (NCCAOM)
Tinisia Green, L.Ac., Dipl.OM. (NCCAOM) is a licensed acupuncturist in Texas and an NCCAOM Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She has extensive experience as a technical writer and her medical writing and organizational skills assure high quality educational materials for HealthCMi acupuncture continuing education online. Tinisia Green, L.Ac. received her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin (AOMA).
Prof. Sharon Feng, L.Ac.

During her lifetime, Prof. Feng was a contributing editor and author for the Healthcare Medicine Institute. Dr. Feng received her M.D. degree from the Shanghai Second Medical University, China where she later served as the Clinic Director of the Chinese/Western Medical Division from 1978-1984 and was Chief of Residents. Dr. Feng was a licensed acupuncturist in California with a clinical practice spanning over 30 years years. Dr. Feng was the Department Chair of Gynecology for Five Branches University and taught herbology and clinical medicine. We loved her very much and her legacy is in the health of her patients and the continuing knowledge that lives through her students.
Elizabeth Hutchison, RN, BSN
Elizabeth Hutchison, RN, BSN has practiced nursing for over 24 years in various capacities including ICU, CCU, home care, hospice, and community health advocacy. She has extensive experience in community education and is the nurse planner for HealthCMI. She holds a BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing) and a PHN (Public Health in Nursing Degree) from California State University, Los Angeles. She oversees in-services, goals, post tests, and reviews of CNE guidelines to ensure that HealthCMI meets nursing standards of excellence.
Kathleen Lee, L.Ac.
Kathleen Lee received her Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine degree at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California. She is a licensed acupuncturist in California and has served as a contributing editor to HealthCMi.
Dr. Greg A. Livingston, Ph.D., L.Ac.

Dr. Livingston is a contributing author for the Healthcare Medicine Institute. Dr. Livingston received his Ph.D. in Chinese Internal Medicine and the Clinical Application of Shang Han Lun at Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine, China. He is one of the few westerners to have completed his Ph.D. in Chinese Medicine in China entirely in Chinese. Dr. Livingston served as a Chinese Medicine Physician at the North American International Hospital, Hangzhou and has lectured at Zhejiang University Medical School.
Galen Williams, M.T.C.M., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM), Dipl.C.H.
Galen Williams, Dipl.Ac. currently serves as an administrative advisor to the Healthcare Medicine Institute. She has been nationally certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology since 1995. Galen Williams, Dipl.Ac has been in private practice in Louisville, Colorado since 1997 and specializes in the treatment of gynecological concerns and the treatment of Shen imbalances.
