Continuing Education Courses Online
Healthcare Medicine Institute (HealthCMI)

About Us
HealthCMI is the online division of the Healthcare Medicine Institute. HealthCMI provides online continuing education courses to medical professionals including acupuncturists and nurses. Medical professionals purchase courses online for download, take an online quiz, and receive a certificate of completion. HealthCMI publishes continuing education online courses in PDF format for ubiquitous access to course material in any format: Mac, Windows, and Linux. PDF documents provide a secure e-book format that allows medical professionals the advantage of a search function. Clinically, this translates into easy access to course information for application in the medical setting.
Acupuncturists
HealthCMI currently offers acupuncture continuing education online courses for California CEUs, NCCAOM National Diplomate PDAs, Florida CEs, Texas CAEs, and CTCMABC (Canada) credits.
Nurses
All HealthCMI nursing continuing education online courses are approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. In 2010, HealthCMI is now going national for nursing continuing education online. We are in the process of gaining ANCC certification for our nursing courses through the WSNA. We will announce the national nursing certification of courses as this develops.
HealthCMI Course and Seminar Development
The Healthcare Medicine Institute is dedicated to supporting a consortium of authors and presenters. Content providers are encouraged to publish medical works for medical professionals which are both useful and interesting. By providing a certificate of completion and license renewal process in conjunction with the production of medical works, the Healthcare Medicine Institute assists writers in obtaining the financial support requisite to devote time towards quality publications. The Healthcare Medicine Institute assists writers and presenters with lecture presentations, quiz creation, approvals for continuing education credit, and the preparation of educational materials for publication. The HealthCMI division of the Healthcare Medicine Institute assists in the preparation of courses for online access. The acupuncturist and nurse divisions of HealthCMI have helped many professionals gain access to quality educational materials. Looking forward, HealthCMI will be introducing dental continuing education online with ADA CERP approved courses in 2011.
The Healthcare Medicine Institute supports both original content and increased awareness of existing medical works. Content providers are encouraged to supplement existing books and other publications with related course materials for continuing education credit. HealthCMI provides services to assist in the creation of online courses using original and existing works as either support documentation or as the basis for course material. In this way, authors are supported in the transition from publications to interactive course materials.
