The 'Annals of Oncology' published a study concluding that Chinese herbal medicine is effective in reducing nausea for chemotherapy patients.  The double-blind placebo controlled randomized study of Chinese herbal medicine notes that Chinese herbal medicine “does have a significant impact on control of nausea”  ('Annals of Oncology' 2007 18(4):768-774).  Interestingly, the report cites an earlier study that appears in the 'Journal of the American Medicine Association' (JAMA. 1998;280:1585-1589).  In it, the study concludes that Chinese herbal medicine is effective for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.
