NCCAOM Acupuncture Continuing Education

All acupuncture and herbal medicine courses at HealthCMI are approved by the NCCAOM for national acupuncture continuing education points (1 PDA = 1 CEU). This covers most states (see below). All acupuncture continuing education courses are also approved for California CEUs by the California Acupuncture Board and the Florida Board of Acupuncture for acupuncture CE credit. Many courses are also approved by the Texas Medical Board for Texas CAEs and for CTCMA BC credit for British Columbia, Canada.
The NCCAOM approves acupuncture continuing education points for the following states: Alaska (AK), Arizona (AZ), Arkansas (AR), California (CA), Colorado (CO), Connecticut (CT), Delaware (DE), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Hawaii (HI), Idaho(ID), Indiana (IN), Iowa (IA), Kentucky (KY), Louisiana (LA), Maine (ME), Maryland (MD), Massachusetts (MA), Michigan (MI), Minnesota (MN), Mississippi(MS), Missouri (MO), Montana (MT), Nebraska (NE), Nevada (NV), New Hampshire (NH), New Jersey (NJ), New Mexico (NM), New York (NY), North Carolina (NC), Ohio (OH), Oregon (OR), Pennsylvania (PA), Rhode Island (RI), South Carolina (SC), Tennessee (TN), Texas (TX), Utah (UT), Vermont (VT), Virginia (VA), Washington (WA), Washington DC, West Virginia (WV), Wisconsin (WI). All acupuncture continuing education courses at HealthCMI meet these states' requirements for continuing education points. The NCCAOM refers to these as PDA's (professional development activity points) and these are commonly referred to as CEUs (continuing education units) by many state regulating bodies.

With the exception of CA, FL, IL, and TX, all states use NCCAOM certification for acupuncture continuing education credit.

All have asked if the NCCAOM pda points are what is required for acupuncture continuing education credit. Yes! The NCCAOM approval covers almost every state in the USA. When purchasing a course online, note that our automated system does not ask you for your NCCAOM acupuncturist number. The NCCAOM requests that your NCCAOM number NOT be included on the certificate. On the other hand, Florida and California would like their numbers on the certificate, therefore the system prompts for that information and does not prompt for NCCAOM provider numbers in order to meet NCCAOM requirements.
