All courses listed as having Texas CAEs are approved for Texas acupuncture continuing education credit by the Texas Medical Board .  Note that each course listing will describe the type of credit: general, herbal, ethics, practice management.

Acupuncturists in Texas are required to complete 17 hours of continuing acupuncture education (CAE) every year. Acupuncturists must complete at least 8 general hours, 1 ethics hour, and 2 herbal hours of acupuncture education credit annually.

The Texas Medical Board offers flexibility if you have extra CAE hours. If you obtain more continuing education hours than you need, you may forward those hours to your next certification period:

The Texas Medical Board (regulation 183.20 part 6j notes, "A licensee may carry forward CAE hours earned prior to an annual registration report which are in excess of the 17-hour annual requirement and such excess hours may be applied to the following years' requirements. A maximum of 34 total excess hours may be carried forward."

In this way, all of your acupuncturist continuing education credits at HealthCMI can be applied to your license renewal. We hope you enjoy the course materials. Simply purchase the course, download the PDF ebook (Mac and Windows PC compatible), take the online quiz, and receive a certificate of completion.
